hollie geitner

With 14 years of corporate communications, internal communications, public relations and marketing experience in both the non-profit and corporate sectors, Hollie brings a unique skill-set to the WordWrite team.

As vice president of client services, Hollie oversees several client accounts, ensuring their unique communications needs are addressed in the most meaningful and appropriate way given the variety of tools now available,  including social media, traditional public relations and WordWrite’s proprietary StoryCrafting process.

Hollie joined the WordWrite team after four years with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) as its Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Her primary responsibilities included promoting and marketing Downtown Pittsburgh as the region’s premier destination to live, work, play and do business.  Hollie helped plan some of the most high-profile events in the Pittsburgh region, including the Pittsburgh 250 Celebration in 2008, the G-20 Pittsburgh Summit in 2009 and the NHL Winter Classic in 2011.  In 2010 she was responsible for planning, executing, communicating and advertising the 50th Anniversary of Light Up Night® Weekend, which drew a record crowd of nearly 600,000 and generated $21 million in economic impact over the course of the holiday shopping season.

Before her work at the PDP, Hollie managed internal communications for Allegheny Energy’s workforce of more than 4,000 employees in 72 locations spanning 4 states.  Working directly with the CEO and senior executives, Hollie established a quarterly LIVE Webcast for employees. She also participated on the company’s wellness and employee engagement committees, managed content for PassPort, Allegheny Energy’s intranet portal system and served as a company spokesperson.

Hollie began her career in the Corporate Communications Department of Pennsylvania Blue Shield, which later became a part of Highmark Inc.  She handled media and public relations work for the insurer and its national subsidiaries.

Hollie is a graduate of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications/journalism.  She resides in the North Hills of Pittsburgh with her husband, Mike and three-year-old son, Preston, who keeps them very busy.
