Medicare Wage Index Media Relations Strategy
With health care reform a top national priority, the Hospital Council of Western Pennsylvania (HCWP) had an opportunity to raise awareness of and affect legislation regarding one of the top issues facing the more than 60 health systems it represents -– the significant financial effects the Medicare Wage Index (MWI) has had on Western Pennsylvania hospitals.

Pittsburgh 250
PNC Legacy Trail Ride Media Relations
The PNC Legacy Trail Ride was a series of events celebrating the Great Allegheny Passage, a non-motorized trail connecting Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh by linking with the C&O Canal Towpath, stretching 335 miles. It was conceived largely as a response to the 2006 Perception Survey of the Region conducted by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. The survey, and related research by the Conference, identified perceptions within and outside the region that did not match the reality of the quality of life, economic opportunity and environmental quality available here. WordWrite was given an opportunity to change those perceptions.

Miller Centrifugal Casting
A Journey of Change and a Story of Perseverance
Centrifugal casting is an old and valuable industrial process that's difficult to describe, but easy to understand — once you see it. With this challenge in mind, WordWrite Communications worked with Miller Centrifugal Casting to develop a sales and financial presentation of the company, its industry and market. Plant visits, interviews with Miller leadership and a review of technical materials on the centrifugal casting process were part of the research process.

Pittsburgh Business Group on Health
Employers must push for more cost-effective health care
When a report showed that healthcare insurers made widely differing payments to hospitals in Western Pennsylvania for the same cardiac procedures, regardless of the outcomes, employers were hit with yet another concern about their employee health plans and the quality of the services they are buying. As an employer-led coalition, the Pittsburgh Business Group on Health needed to assert its position as an advocate for value and quality in health care and benefits and join the public debate about the report.
