The Real Meaning of G-20 to the Rest of Us: WordWrite CEO's Insight Published

Next 90 days are critical to companies wanting to tell their story

PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 26, 2009 — Paul Furiga, president and CEO of WordWrite Communications, one of Pittsburgh’s fastest growing public relations agencies, provided his insight into the upcoming G-20 Summit that will be hosted by Pittsburgh and the opportunity it presents over the next 90 days in a column appearing in the Pittsburgh Business Times.

Furiga drew on his 20 years of journalism experience, including six as a White House correspondent, as well as the year-long public relations engagement WordWrite had last year in promoting Pittsburgh 250, the region's 250th birthday, to the world.

"The real opportunity for the region lies in the next 90 days, when the national media types who snickered and guffawed during the May 28 announcement come to justify for themselves (and to the world) why Pittsburgh merits a place on the world stage," Furiga wrote. "The time is now for the region’s technology, life sciences, medical device and other 'new economy' companies to tell their stories. Their individual stories come together to create today's Pittsburgh Story."
