Your Opportunity: Account Executive

WordWrite seeks talented, self-motivated, digital/social media/public relations professionals who can handle day-to-day account needs at the direction of account leaders. 

The Account Executive is a key team member in growing and developing public relations, social media and inbound marketing initiatives for clients. The account executive also assists in the development of interns and junior staff in inbound marketing, social media, media relationship skills, and works with Senior Account Executives and agency leaders to develop overall strategies for clients and the agency.

The ideal Account Executive is a good writer, but more importantly, attuned to the strong possibilities of media relations, inbound and social media. The Account Executive handles day-to-day account service in preparation for a more senior role in the agency, including managing and growing inbound, social media and news media relationships.

The Account Executive will have a key team role in developing and extending WordWrite’s proprietary storytelling brand. Together with WordWrite leadership and fellow team members, the Account Executive will help reshape the meaning of public relations for clients, practitioners and the audiences that we reach. The Account Executive Role:

You connect with people quickly in an outgoing, friendly manner. You employ persuasive communication skills to gain the interest and involvement of others on your team. You have an extreme sense of urgency, combined with a drive to get work done in complete, accurate detail and in accordance with WordWrite standards and policies. You have a strong sense of duty and a feeling of responsibility for completing work both quickly and correctly.

At WordWrite, our work pace is faster than average so you are impatient for results. Your follow-up of delegated work must be very thorough. You will make daily decisions by seeking the ideas and advice of others, but you will always act carefully and cautiously within the guidelines of the WordWrite Way.

You can sell ideas to others and can train, teach and motivate more junior team members. Change is an ongoing part of this job and you embrace it with the support and guidance of management. On a daily basis, you will:

  • Lead agency initiatives to develop inbound, social media and news media services or product areas, processes, systems, etc.
  • Manage day-to-day client account needs, including but not limited to:
    • Writing and editing
    • Social Media, media relations and influencer relations
  • Participate in appropriate new business, visibility and strategic initiatives to benefit WordWrite and WordWrite team members
  • Help manage WordWrite’s online presence including social media, email and blogging
  • Develop opportunities to improve WordWrite operations, gain new clients and enhance the image and reputation of WordWrite and WordWrite team members
  • Assist in leading/managing WordWrite’s internship program
  • Participate in professional development activities to expand industry knowledge and experience
  • Work with WordWrite leadership to map out a short-term and long-term path for personal and professional growth and development as a member of the WordWrite team.

The ideal Account Executive will have:

  • Experience: 2-4 years work experience, agency experience preferred
  • Education: A four-year degree in Public Relations, English, Communications, Marketing or related area of study
  • Expected billability: 65-75 percent, or roughly 5-6 hours a day
