ROBIN RECTENWALD

Account Supervisor

Robin is a dreamer and a planner. For clients, she is always brainstorming new strategies and ideas to help them solve their biggest challenges. She works in collaboration with her team to create, execute and measure results-driven strategies. She strives to ensure WordWrite meets client expectations and she is a trusted communications counselor for several of WordWrite’s B2B, B2C and non-profit accounts.

As a true marketer and networker, Robin is active in helping share WordWrite’s story and can often be seen out speaking or attending industry events.

Prior to joining WordWrite in 2017, Robin was director of public relations at Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania (VLP). In one year, she increased VLP’s media placements by 150 percent and increased e-newsletter subscribers by 43 percent, doubling the click-through rate and nearly doubling website sessions, users and pageviews. She also spent time working for Jampole Communications, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the office of Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

She recently earned her master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University. In 2012, she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in communications and Spanish from Duquesne University.

Robin is passionate about helping students. She is an adjunct professor at Duquesne University in the Media Department. She also mentors students (specifically, by sharing her personal story of repaying $100,000 in student loans) and serves on the Pittsburgh chapter board for Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Find her out and about in the city going to concerts, attending sporting events, bicycling and kayaking.

THREE THINGS THAT MIGHT SURPRISE YOU

  1. She’s a proud Latina Yinzer — born in Bogotá, Colombia but has lived in Pittsburgh her entire life.
  2. Robin is a punk rock girl at heart and is happiest when she gets to see her favorite band, Punchline.
  3. When she travels (another love), she always finds the coolest speakeasy in that city. So far, her two favorites are right here in Pittsburgh: The Speakeasy at the Omni William Penn and Acacia on the South Side.
I've got a brilliant plan and dreams so big they won't fit in my head.                                                                                                       – Punchline
