A storyteller since he learned how to speak — though he’ll tell you he much prefers to write — Dan produces a range of content and manages The Pittsburgh 100 as WordWrite’s brand journalist.
Dan comes from a background in news journalism. He began his career covering high school sports, scrambling to meet deadlines from cramped press boxes in rural Pennsylvania. He went on to work as a reporter with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and helped run the Trib’s online efforts. Following his years in newspapers, he took a role as a digital curator with Hearst Television’s national news desk, producing national news for the organization’s affiliate stations.
As a native Pittsburgher, he didn’t grow up near country roads, but Dan graduated from West Virginia University with a journalism degree in 2008. Today, he loves both the great outdoors and finding new things to do in the city, especially trying new restaurants.
